Tonight at Godsphere, the young adults gathered to worship our awesome God and watch a portion of the 'Indescribable' DVD by Louie Giglio.
As my 4 year old daugther sat on my lap, she kept asking questions about things she did not understand or could not comprehend. 'Why is that so big Daddy?', ' What is an astronaut?', some questions I attempted to answer as we were going others I told her I would answer later.
Now what you need to understand is that my 4 year old does not forget, ever..... and on the way home any question I had put off, she repeated word or word. First the one about the astronaut, easy I thought, followed by a question about space, then one about God. As I tried to explain in age appropriate language to help her understand, all she could do was look up at the stars in wonder. Questions were simply not enough, she was amazed and stunned by what God had made. She did not need the answers, they did not matter. 'I'm going to that star' she announced to me as we arrived home, and in my haste I stated something I now disagree with, 'Thats not possible in one life time'. After watching this DVD, what was I saying, if God can create it then He could take her there.
This got me wondering, have I lost the awe and wonder of God's amazing creation? Do I limit God? Are we like this, 'But Why God?' when really we should just give God the praise. Not for what he has done for me today (although really great), but for who He really is, the star breathing creator. How Awesome is that!!!
