Friday Highlights

Excitement and sadness as this was our last day together at KidsGames 2010. We've had a fantastic week with the kids, enjoyed some terrific games and crafts, music and Bible teaching. Thanks to everyone for coming along and making it so special.

Today we watched the kids crawl under nets in "Survivor", made log cabins and outback scenes in the craft room, and learned that God has a purpose for our lives.

Our theme verse today from Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

The day finished with a great BBQ, a time to chat with the kids and parents, and present each with a medal.

Congratulations to our top point scoring teams for the week - Australia in our Junior division, Italy in our Middle division and the USA in our Senior division. Well done; your hard work has paid off!

There are some photos in the gallery that show how much fun our last day was.

If you enjoyed our programme and are in grades 4-7 at school, we'd love to see you at 7pm on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month at Kids Club. We also have Kids Zone every Sunday during school terms.

We hope to see you again at Birkdale Baptist Church for KidsGames in 2012.

Thursday Highlights

Today the weather held for us and the Waterbucket Relay was cancelled so we could race the boats we made yesterday. A few boats didn't really last the distance, and several kids fell overboard, but overall the kids had done a great job with design, durability and decoration.

This afternoon we turned to a different form of entertainment, with a "So You Think You Can Dance" competition. Catchy music and slick dance moves revealed an unexpected level of talent in every team. Want to take a look? Check out the gallery!

Today's verse:
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Tomorrow is our last day, with lots of fun planned, finishing with our Family BBQ and Closing Ceremony beginning at 6pm. See you all there!

Wednesday Highlights

The rain didn't spoil the fun at KidsGames today, it just sent it inside. The kids played some great indoor games, learned about Trust, sang enthusiastically, created stained glass windows in craft, and threw themselves into their team assignment for today - building boats out of boxes, paper towel rolls and newspaper. They had a fun and messy time painting them as well.

The judges will announce the winning boats tomorrow, and then they'll race them on the hill, getting points for durability as well as speed!

Today's Bible verses were John 8:12 and John 12:36, "Jesus said: 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'...Put your trust in the light."

Some more highlights are in the gallery. See you again tomorrow.

Tuesday Highlights

Congratulations to Greece, our Waterbucket Relay champion team in the Middle group for the second day in a row! Well done, kids! Let's hope the other teams can catch up during the week.

Today the kids went to Spy Training school before facing a tough assignment in the Amazing Race, made grass heads in the craft room and showed their soccer skills in the multi-team indoor soccer game.

Our theme verse for Tuesday:
"Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." Luke 12:7

We all matter to God, whether we are spies, soccer players, or kids having fun at KidsGames. Check out a few photos from today in the gallery. See you all tomorrow.

Monday Highlights

We had an exciting start to our week today. Full attendance, fantastic weather and lots of enthusiasm made the day a lot of fun.

Each team is named after a country playing in the FIFA World Cup Soccer, but no soccer game ever involved a water bucket relay, sword fighting in Sherwood Forest, and decorating craft bags.

Today's theme verse:
"Jesus said, 'I am giving you a new command. You must love each other, just as I have loved you. If you love each other, everyone will know that you are my disciples.'" John 13:34-35

Have a look at the gallery for some photos from today.

See you tomorrow!
