Sorry for the failure to deliver you your weekly Battle email – I’ve been away on holidays – I trust I have your forgiveness…

It’s interesting…I’ve spoken to a few guys in the last week or so about their lives and it came with little surprise that their greatest struggle is with sexual impurity.  It reminded me of difficulty of this battle that each of us are engaged in.  So I hope this email encourages you…

The Apostle Paul said “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Phil 3:14)  Even though he wasn’t referring specifically to his battle with sexual temptation, there’s a principle here that I want to share with you.  Your goal, when it comes to sexual purity, is to enjoy sex with your wife – plain and simple – all of your sexual expression and experience should be with your wife.  That is our goal.  We live in a society that wants things NOW – and we can get it now – we have internet, television, magazines, billboards…stuff everywhere screaming at us – c’mon!!! you know you want this!!!  Just do it!!!  Why wait when you can enjoy it now?!!

PRESS ON TOWARD THE GOAL TO WIN THE PRIZE FOR WHICH GOD HAS CALLED YOU!!!

Let me tell you as someone who is married – it’s like this…our sexuality is like a tank – it’s full when we are enjoying sex as God intended.  Every time we seek sexual gratification outside of our relationship with our wife (and yes, that includes you singles), a little bit of the tank is emptied, then a little more, then a little more until it gets to the point (and this has happened to many men) where they can no longer enjoy sex with their wife because their sexual purity tank is empty.  And their lives are destroyed.

So for you guys who are single, either unmarried or without girlfriend, you have a sexual purity tank too.  And each time you seek sexual gratification outside of your future relationship with your wife, you are letting a bit out of the tank and selling yourself and your wife short of God’s plan for your sex life.

PRESS ON TOWARD THE GOAL TO WIN THE PRIZE FOR WHICH GOD HAS CALLED YOU!!!  The goal is sexual purity.
